For most professionals these days, being able to work from home every once in a while, is such a luxury. But really, which environment enables you to be more productive – your actual office or your home office?
In a real company office, your productivity is threatened by colleagues who love dropping by your desk to give you updates on everything from work-related news to nonsense gossip. How about when you’re in your home office? Whether you admit it or not, you are your own enemy in this situation. Because no one is observing you and tapping on your table to say “I need that by 2!” you might not feel the pressure or the obligation to finish your tasks. Start Your Workday Early
If you’re working in a traditional work environment, you’d get up early, take a shower, get some coffee and go to work. Do the same even when you’re just going to work in the next room! Preparing yourself for work will actually help you get things done. If you postpone getting out of bed until you feel like it, you might realize that the day has gone by and you haven’t achieved anything.
Have a Dedicated Work Area
It doesn’t have to be an actual home office if you can’t spare a room for that. It can be something as simple as a specific table and chair by a corner. It can even be that coffee shop nearby. Whichever it is, it should be a comfortable spot that can always put you in the right frame of mind so you can be productive.
Discipline Yourself When It Comes to Social Media
It’s smart to remove your social networks from your bookmarks. Sometimes it becomes an impulse and you just subconsciously click on them when you’re having some downtime. And then you can get sucked in for hours without you realizing it. Be strict with yourself by making sure that you only check your social media in the evening, when all your work is done. It would be much more rewarding that way.
Time Yourself Using Your Laundry
A work from home situation is the best opportunity to multitask. You can do your laundry and commit to meeting mini-deadlines that you have to finish by the time the wash cycle is done, too. Set another goal before you start the dryer.
Make It Clear with Everyone in the House That You’re Working
It can be really frustrating when you’re trying to work and your brother or sister keeps having a conversation with you, or the kids keep on asking you to play with them. You can tell them that once your ‘office’ door is closed or your headphones are on, you are not to be disturbed unless it’s an emergency or something equally important. It’s very easy for family members to feel like you’re just hanging out and not working when they see you around (and not in your office clothes).

Im going to start this by saying Im a very particular customer. My background is in mathematics and mechanical engineering so I have an eye for detail and a respect for technical knowledge.
Greg had already done an AC inspection and replaced a water heater tank and there was no question in my mind who to deal with replacing my rickety old furnace after it got pooched.
