Continental Heating and Cooling has been around for almost 45 years and was founded not too far from Twintech in Barrie Ontario! Since they first started making heating and cooling equipment their reputation has grown into one of the high-quality HVAC products. Continental furnaces are built well and are made to last, but you’ll inevitably have to troubleshoot as it wears down over time.
If you have to troubleshoot your Continental furnace, start with the thermostat. Make sure it’s set to heat and is above room temperature. Set it extra high while troubleshooting just to be sure. Then make sure the fan is turned on. If the fan or thermostat is not running, make sure the furnace is turned on, and then check the breakers/fuse.
If the issue was not with the breaker, then check the inspection window on the furnace blower. If everything is working fine then you’ll see a flashing green light, but if there’s no light or if it’s red, then the problem could be more technical (ie. with the transformer, thermostat, or blower motor). If you don’t have repair experience, it’s best to call your HVAC technician to fix this.
If everything is looking good so far but the furnace is still not heating, then check the pilot light to make sure it’s on. If it is but it’s still cold, feel the side of the furnace to see if the warm air is making its way through the system. If you’ve reached the end of this list and the furnace is still giving you trouble, then now’s the time to call your HVAC technician to get your home feeling warm again.

The next day he came to the house to review my needs and give me a price for a new system. Price quoted was less than I expected and the installation was completed the following day. We are very happy to recommend this company to everyone. Our furnace broke down on Sunday morning. We phoned them and before noon Grant the owner showed up. He worked on the furnace for about a hour not wanting to give up to fix the problem. The furnace was 17 years old. I was the one talking about replacing it. End result was the next day it was all done. On the Sunday Bob came over with heaters to warm up the house. We decided to replace the water heater at the same time. TwinTech is an excellent and honest company! I called them for a second opinion after being told by another company that I needed to replace my furnace. Turns out this was not the case at all! I did not need a new furnace. TwinTech did not push to make an unnecessary sale and saved me from a huge expense. Bob and Mitch were extremely professional and above all honest!
