Ducane makes some of the most reliable furnaces out there, with many of their gas furnaces boasting high-efficiency ratings. When buying a furnace, this is a great thing to know because you can count on that furnace to cost less down the road. Nonetheless, with repeated use, the furnace is going to need regular maintenance and small repairs. If your Ducane furnace stops working, go through this list before you call your repair tech. After going through a maintenance check (ex, replacing your filters and making sure it has power), here are a few reasons your furnace might not be working properly.
Often when a furnace isn’t heating, it’s because the pilot light is out. Luckily, this is simple to remedy on Ducane furnaces by first making sure the main valve is switched to “On”. Next, check the Hot Surface Ignitor (H.S.I) to make sure that it’s intact and there’s no debris clogging it. If you aren’t sure where these things are, refer to the furnace manual for further details.
Perhaps your burners won’t ignite, then it may be an issue with the gas valve as gas isn’t getting to the burners. Make sure it is set to the correct position. If that doesn’t work, check for loose wires or broken connections before calling your repair tech.
Lastly, if the problem is that you are not simply getting enough heat - turn up the temperature! Often this solves the problem of comfort, even when the temperature you set it to seems high.

We are very happy to recommend this company to everyone. Our furnace broke down on Sunday morning. We phoned them and before noon Grant the owner showed up. He worked on the furnace for about a hour not wanting to give up to fix the problem. The furnace was 17 years old. I was the one talking about replacing it. End result was the next day it was all done. On the Sunday Bob came over with heaters to warm up the house. We decided to replace the water heater at the same time. TwinTech is an excellent and honest company! I called them for a second opinion after being told by another company that I needed to replace my furnace. Turns out this was not the case at all!
