And no ice can build up when the temperature drops again. Not only is cleaning the gutters essential for maintaining your roof, but it's also good for prolonging the life of your eaves.

Poor ventilation can cause icicles, clear all vents from snow and other debris to allow warm air to escape. If your roof doesn't slope and snow has built up, you should also shovel off any snow to prevent water damage from melting snow and ice.
