Exhaust Hose Extension Help on Portable A/C
I bought a black and decker portable A/C very similar to the one in these pictures with those exact parts.
It has a 5.
9” exhaust hose.
I am looking for parts to extend the exhaust hose but I feel like I'm missing a part.
I bought a connector, but that doesn't seem to work.
Can anyone please advise? Thank you very much.

When it comes to extending the exhaust hose of a portable air conditioner, it's important to ensure that you have the right parts and proper setup to maintain efficient and safe operation. Here are a few things to consider and some potential solutions:
Compatibility: Check the specifications and compatibility of the extension parts you purchased. Ensure they are designed to work with your specific model and brand of portable air conditioner. Using incompatible parts may result in poor performance or even damage to the unit.
Hose Connector: The hose connector you bought may not be compatible with your portable air conditioner or may not provide a secure connection. Make sure the connector is designed to fit your unit's exhaust hose diameter. It should provide a tight and secure connection to avoid air leakage.
Hose Extension Kit: Consider purchasing a hose extension kit specifically designed for portable air conditioners. These kits usually include a longer exhaust hose and any necessary connectors. Check with the manufacturer or a reputable retailer to find a compatible extension kit for your specific model.
Length Limitations: Keep in mind that there may be limitations on the maximum length for extending the exhaust hose. Longer hoses can decrease the unit's efficiency and effectiveness. Check the manufacturer's guidelines or user manual to determine the recommended maximum length for your portable air conditioner's exhaust hose.
Air Leakage Prevention: Ensure that the connections between the original exhaust hose, extension hose, and any connectors are secure and airtight. Air leakage can reduce the cooling efficiency of the unit and increase energy consumption.
Venting Options: Consider alternative venting options if extending the exhaust hose becomes challenging. For example, you can use a window kit or a sliding door kit specifically designed for portable air conditioners to vent the hot air outside. These kits provide a more secure and efficient solution for venting the exhaust.
If you're unsure about the specific parts or solutions needed for your portable air conditioner, it's best to consult the manufacturer's customer support or reach out to a reputable retailer specializing in air conditioning units. They can provide guidance and ensure you get the appropriate parts for your specific model.
I had them replace my furnace last year. When it came time for the air conditioner this year, I did not hesitate to call Twintech again. I will also have them perform regular maintenance on them.
