Is My AC Unit Defective?

If you suspect your AC unit is defective, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot before concluding it's faulty:
Check the settings: Ensure that the thermostat is set to cool and the desired temperature is lower than the current room temperature.
Inspect the air filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can restrict airflow, causing your AC unit to work harder and less efficiently.
Replace or clean the filter if necessary.
Check the circuit breaker: Make sure the circuit breaker for your AC unit hasn't tripped.
If it has, reset it and see if that resolves the issue.
Inspect the outdoor unit: Ensure that the outdoor unit is free of debris such as leaves, dirt, or grass clippings.
Restricted airflow around the unit can hinder its performance.
Listen for unusual sounds: Strange noises like grinding, banging, or squealing could indicate a mechanical issue that requires professional attention.
Feel the air coming from the vents: If the air isn't as cool as it should be, or if there's weak airflow, there could be a problem with the compressor or ductwork.
If you've gone through these steps and your AC unit still isn't functioning properly, it may indeed be defective.
In such cases, it's best to contact a professional HVAC technician to diagnose and repair the issue.

Our furnace bit the dust, and Twintech came out to troubleshoot and diagnose the problem within a couple of hours. Mitch was super helpful, patient, and answered all of our questions. Dave and the Twintech team were fabulous from day 1 and helped us through the process to identifying a new furnace and AC unit. Twitch did a great job with the installation of our new furnace. I really appreciated their honesty and I could trust what they were telling me. Another company tried to suggest significantly more work at a greater cost claiming it was necessary to meet current building code. Twintech is very fair. All staff I meet were friendly, polite and trustworthy. I would recommend Twitch for a furnace.

Very professional firm from start to finish!
They removed the old oil tank and furnace. They installed air conditioning and a new propane furnace.
Professional installation, on time and no mess.
Very pleased with their work and would highly recommend the company. Our house is three stories so they spent the time to do all the calculations to make sure we would have great performance on each floor.

Upon a routine yearly maintenance, it was discovered there was a leak in the heat exchanger and a I needed a new furnace. I know nothing about these things and was completely stressed out. The company I had the maintenance plan with quoted me a huge number to rent a furnace, I just wanted to cry. Then I spoke to Dave at Twintech.
