My AC is Dripping Water?
If your air conditioner is dripping water, it could be a sign of several potential issues. Here are some common reasons why your AC might be dripping water:
Clogged Drain Line: Over time, the drain line in your AC unit can become clogged with dirt, algae, or debris. When this happens, water can back up and overflow from the drain pan, leading to dripping. You can try clearing the drain line using a wet/dry vacuum or a pipe cleaner. If the clog is severe, you may need to contact a professional to clear it.
Dirty Air Filter: A dirty air filter can restrict airflow, causing the evaporator coil to freeze. When the ice melts, it can overflow the drain pan and cause dripping. Check and replace your air filter if it's dirty.
Frozen Evaporator Coil: If the evaporator coil inside your AC unit freezes, it can cause dripping when the ice melts. This can be caused by restricted airflow, low refrigerant levels, or other issues. Turn off your AC and allow the ice to melt, then investigate the cause of the freezing. If the problem persists, you may need to contact a professional HVAC technician for further diagnosis and repair.
Damaged or Disconnected Drain Pan: The drain pan collects condensation from the evaporator coil and directs it to the drain line. If the drain pan is damaged or not properly connected, water can leak out and cause dripping. Inspect the drain pan for any signs of damage or misalignment and repair as needed.
Improper Installation: If your AC unit was not installed correctly, it could lead to drainage issues. Make sure the unit is level and that the drain line is properly connected and sloped to allow for proper drainage.
If you're unable to identify or resolve the issue causing your AC to drip water, it's best to contact a professional HVAC technician for assistance. They can diagnose the problem and recommend the appropriate repairs to prevent further damage.

My Fiancé and I have relied on Twintech Heating and Cooling now for the better part of the last 10 years. In that time, Greg has installed a furnace, an air conditioner, and a heat-pump at our residence in Toronto. In each instance Greg and his team were a pleasure to deal with. They were courteous and professional throughout the whole process and the quality of their work is first rate. Our experiences have always been extremely positive and we have referred his services numerous times to our friends and family. Without hesitation, I would recommend Greg and TwinTech Heating and Cooling to anyone looking to service or replace their existing heat/AC equipment
