1. Check for Gas or Burning Odors
- If you smell gas or a "rotten egg" smell, it could indicate a gas leak, which is dangerous. Evacuate the area and contact your gas company or emergency services right away.
- A burning smell during the first use of the season is normal as dust burns off, but if it persists, this could signal a wiring issue or overheating.
2. Inspect the Flame Color
- The burner flame should be a steady blue color. If it’s yellow or flickering, this could mean incomplete combustion, which may release carbon monoxide. A qualified technician should inspect this.
3. Carbon Monoxide Detectors
- Place carbon monoxide detectors on each floor and near sleeping areas. Test them monthly, and replace batteries as needed.

The next day he came to the house to review my needs and give me a price for a new system. Price quoted was less than I expected and the installation was completed the following day. I found their salesman and the installers very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. All my questions were answered. Everything was properly explained in regards to what unit was needed and why, along with instruction where needed for use.
The installers made sure everything was working properly before they left.
