Canadians are familiar with extremely cold weather. We are no stranger to the kind of winter that seems to linger too long that we all start to believe that spring will never come.
It is during those long winters that we are most thankful for the amazing invention that is the furnace. Unfortunately, it’s also the time when furnaces tend to break down – right when they are needed the most.
Whether they are residential or commercial units, the most common problems with furnaces are the same. These problems can easily be addressed and prevented by regular upkeep.
First of all, a lot of problems arise from the lack of maintenance. A routine inspection and maintenance by professionals can ensure that the unit is always ready for operation. Thorough inspections also mean that any potential problem will be detected before it gets worse and your furnace breaks down at the most inconvenient time.
When you start using your furnace, you should change the filters so you can avoid the countless problems that can be the result of dirty filters. A monthly replacement is what most manufacturers recommend.
Filters that are clogged with dirt can get in the way of your furnace’s ability to heat your space. Aside from that, a lack of heat can also be caused by many things, including the wrong thermostat setting, a problem with the power, and even a pilot light that’s been extinguished. You can check for these problems yourself.
If the problem, however, is that the furnace is making noises or the blower is running continuously, it may be a mechanical problem that should be immediately addressed by a professional.

The next day he came to the house to review my needs and give me a price for a new system. Price quoted was less than I expected and the installation was completed the following day. I found their salesman and the installers very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. All my questions were answered. Everything was properly explained in regards to what unit was needed and why, along with instruction where needed for use.
The installers made sure everything was working properly before they left.
