ASHP otherwise known as Air Source Heat Pump
At first glance an Air Source Heat Pump can look identical to an Air Conditioner, however one clue it’s a Heat Pump is that both refrigerant lines are insulated, whereas only one of refrigerant lines is insulated on an Air Conditioner. This is because a Heat Pump is designed using a reversing valve that can cycle the refrigerant in both directions, essentially flowing the refrigerant backwards compared with an air conditioner that has a refrigerant capable of flowing in one direction only. Many people are now considering replacing their existing Central Air Conditioner with a Heat Pump and this can be done whether using an Electric Furnace or even a modern Gas furnace. We have many options available that give you the ability to heat your home without using the gas furnace until it’s very cold outside, otherwise the heat pump can handle the job for similar operational costs to the gas furnace. Another thing to remember when you install any Heat Pump is that the outside unit should be at least 18 inches above the ground. This is because when a Heat Pump is running in the winter to heat your home or building, it creates condensation which freezes on the coil outside and so every so often the Heat Pump has to go into a Defrost Mode which will cause water to drip off of the unit where it then freezes during winter months. If your Heat pump was on the ground, it would freeze up into a block of ice during the winter and that could be disastrous!

We are very happy to recommend this company to everyone. Our furnace broke down on Sunday morning. We phoned them and before noon Grant the owner showed up. He worked on the furnace for about a hour not wanting to give up to fix the problem. The furnace was 17 years old. I was the one talking about replacing it. End result was the next day it was all done. On the Sunday Bob came over with heaters to warm up the house. We decided to replace the water heater at the same time. TwinTech is an excellent and honest company! I called them for a second opinion after being told by another company that I needed to replace my furnace. Turns out this was not the case at all! I did not need a new furnace. TwinTech did not push to make an unnecessary sale and saved me from a huge expense. Bob and Mitch were extremely professional and above all honest!
