There are two types of central AC systems. The split system includes both indoor and outdoor components. The outdoor part contains the condenser and compressor which collect and cool the air. The indoor unit contains the evaporator which releases the cooled air for distribution. A packaged central AC system means all of those components are contained in one unit, which is most often placed on the roof or outside, next to the home.
There are lots of benefits to having a central air conditioner, such as increased comfort and clean air. This is because the system pulls air from the rooms in your home through the air filters and back out again. This essentially recycles the air in your home and gets rid of dust, lint and even (depending on the quality of the filter) small pollutants. TwinTech is an excellent and honest company! I called them for a second opinion after being told by another company that I needed to replace my furnace. Turns out this was not the case at all! I did not need a new furnace. TwinTech did not push to make an unnecessary sale and saved me from a huge expense. Bob and Mitch were extremely professional and above all honest!
