Durham Region Air Conditioning Repair, Service and Installation
With winter coming fast, you’re going to want to make sure your furnace is inspected and ready for the cold. But if something happens, you don’t need to reach for the phone right away. Often you can troubleshoot the problems and even if that doesn’t get your furnace working again, you’ll be able to narrow down the issue. Here are some tips for Amana furnace troubleshooting.
Tip 1: Check and replace your filter. Having a dirty filter can cause all sorts of problems, such as reduced airflow and efficiency and dirty air.
To fix this, turn off the furnace power by turning off the breaker. Then lift and slide off the non-louvered door to expose the filters. There are two filters; one on the right and one on the left side of the blower. Remove the filters by pulling them up and then out of the blower door.
If any of the permanent filters need to be replaced, you can order one easily directly from Amana. To insert the new filters, push them up until the filter rests easily on the rack, and then slide the door back on and turn on the power.
Tip 2: If your Amana furnace isn’t heating, then the problem could be with the circuit breaker or fuse. If you reset the furnace’s circuit breaker and still you have no power, then you’ll have to replace it.
If there’s the power to your furnace now but it still isn’t heating, then the igniter could be broken or cracked. If you find any cracks, replace the igniter. If there’s seemingly no issue with it, check for continuity with a multimeter.

I called Twin Tech when my air conditioning stopped working. Greg came over to diagnose the issue - the same day. He was able to diagnose the issue and resolve it quite quickly. Although it was a quick fix, Greg was very thorough in explaining the issue and provided great advice.
