My AC Unit is Not Working, What Now?

You may encounter many problems with your air conditioner and while it is true that most problems require HVAC experts to repair them, there are some troubleshooting tips that can help homeowners fix the simple issues.
Here is a troubleshooting guide that can help you address some of the most common problems you may experience with your air conditioner:
Your AC Unit Won’t Turn On
If your AC unit is not turning on, check first your outside unit to determine if the condenser is running. Check if the unit is plugged in and your thermostat is set properly. Some thermostats are tricky so homeowners can save themselves time and money just by reading the manual.
Once you’ve checked the condenser, the plug, and the thermostat and it still isn’t turning on, check to see if there is a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker. If you do find frozen coil or if the unit is still not turning on, there might be a problem with the motor or the compressor. One of our HVAC experts can repair your system for you.
Your AC Unit is Not Cooling the Air
If your AC unit is turning on and the thermostat is set properly but it is not cooling, there could be a dirty or blocked air condenser. The first thing you can do is check the unit outside and clean its surroundings. If there is any debris or weeds that block the air circulation, remove them.
You also need to check your filter as it might be dirty. When the filter is dirty, it restricts the air to the evaporator coil, leading to a frozen coil. If you use your AC unit often or if you have pets, you might need to change your filter more often. You can pull out your filter and check if you can see through it. If you can’t, then it is dirty.

Great sales member named Dave came in told us some amazing items and how they would be priced installed an all. We couldnÂ’t believe it! The next day the ac was installed, that day one employee named Greg told us that our furnace was working way to hard and was causing us to use way too much gas. So two days later they came in an installed a new furnace!

They removed and discarded old furnace. Installed new furnace. Installed air intake pipe, that had never been installed by builder, no charge. Replaced loose hose on floor with hard pipe and rerouted it to drain, no charge. Almost 33% cheaper then quote from Enercare, which was the company we dealt with and had insurance with for 8 years. No yearly fee for cleaning/insurance, saves 300 a year. Courteous, professional, fast, and friendly. My wife and I have been recommending them to everyone we know and meet, and will continue to do so. Thanks for everything, Twintech!!!
